“The Boekentoren in Ghent is an untimely building: simultaneously late, early and interrupted…”
A short essay by William Mann on the construction site of Robbrecht en Daem architecten’s ingenious restoration, upgrade and extension of the Boekentoren, Ghent. The building is a towering presence in the city, completed in 1942 when Henry Van de Velde was in his eighties. Published (in French and Dutch) in February’s issue of A+.
